For this book Svein O. has both written poetry and photographed, together it became Poetgraphy. Beyond the obvious is the first book in this series, and in this project, it is his surroundings in nature and the city he has explored.
The pictures for this project are of things in your surroundings you don’t see at first glance, the ones you really have to use your imagination to see. In other words, he has worked in a more abstract direction with the photographs for this book.
The Poetgraphy project was born during a stroll in the center of Aalesund in 2017 on the way to an art exhibition, and for the next five years he photographed and wrote for the project, which was finally completed in autumn 2023. It is his daily surroundings that he has photographed, and most of the photographs were created at the west coast of Norway through walks in the forest, mountains and city.
